Our first visit to Glen Ella Springs  in April was not our last for 2016. We recently returned to this gorgeous historic Inn for the wedding of Ina and Jeff. I’ve known Ina and Jeff for quite awhile. Many years ago, we met Ina through our next door neighbor, Allison. Allison is Ina’s best friend since childhood. Ina and Jeff have been together for a wonderful twelve years. It’s been a long running joke among family and friends that they were never getting married. Well, 12 years of an amazing life together later, Jeff surprised Ina with a beautiful ring in her home country of Ireland. Friends and family could not be more excited as their wedding day finally approached and we were the lucky photographers to capture the whole day.

Glen Ella Springs is located in the beautiful hills of North Georgia. Naturally, summer weather in Georiga means pop-up rain storms and intense humidity. While Ina was eating McDonald’s and getting ready in her stunt-woman tee (what bride doesn’t do that!), the skies opened up for a rain shower that seemed never-ending. Just as the time came to begin a sneak peak with Ina’s dad, the sun broke through the clouds, the rain stopped and the temperature dropped about 15 degrees. It was GORGEOUS weather. After this we knew the whole day was set for perfect.

Ina and Jeff chose a first look before their ceremony, so they could optimize the amount of time with friends and family at the reception. We traveled around the grounds at Glen Ella Springs and captured the most relaxed bride of 2016. Ina’s smile glowed in the presence of Jeff; and Jeff couldn’t take his eyes off Ina. A Bagpiper played during their ceremony as promises were exchanged, and a tree was planted to symbolized their foundations. After the ceremony a few more family pictures were taken before the party began.

The reception was full of the nicest people have a blast on the dance floor. During the speeches Jeff called attention to Ina’s niece. She wanted to be flower girl at their wedding since the beginning of their relationship; twelve years later at twenty years old she finally got the chance, as Jeff honored her with a special gift from the two of them. As the moon appeared in the sky Jeff told us about the lunar event of the ‘blue moon.’ He said they chose this wedding date to mark good luck and best wishes.
