Meet the beautiful Lulu and Gary! It’s not everyday we have a Chinese wedding on a Monday at 8 in the morning. Lulu’s parents live in China and they traveled all the way up the Chinese mountains to find a mystic to pick the date and time of their daughter’s wedding. It was decided that May 15th at 8 am would be the time that the couple would tie the knot and live the happiest life together. Even though it was early in the morning, we had a wonderful time learning the culture and traditional elements of a Chinese Wedding. Sticking to tradition, Gary lit a firecracker to symbolize him leaving his home and heading over to his beautiful bride!
Once he got to her house firecrackers were lit once again to signal the bride he had arrived. Once Gary saw his gorgeous bride he couldn’t help but get choked up. After her big reveal Lulu and Gary received blessings from Lulu’s parents, and the groomsmen carried Lulu to her car. It is bad luck for the bride’s feet to touch the ground at her ‘old’ home on the day of the wedding. With the groomsmen escort, Lulu and Gary traveled to the groom’s house, where they were greeted with a fig and rice sprinkling through the doorway. Once inside, they held a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony for Gary’s parents. Lulu and Gary had a beautiful and intimate wedding sharing the day with thirty of their closest friends and family. It is an honor to know them and we wish them the best on their lifetime together!
